What your coach sees, and where it goes

A coach that watches your screen has to earn your trust. Here is what Oithere looks at, what stays on your Mac, and the little that leaves it.

Oithere has a simple job: notice when your attention drifts, then say something that brings you back. That job only works if you can trust the coach that is watching.

So here is exactly what it sees, and where it goes.

Only during a session

Oithere looks at your screen only while a focus session is running. Before you start, and after it ends, it is not watching. You can pause or stop a session at any time.

Screenshots stay on your Mac

To understand what you are doing, Oithere reads the window in front of you: the app, the page, the text on screen. Oithere reads it on your Mac, and the screenshot is gone a moment later.

Screenshots are never uploaded and never saved. Your session history is kept on your Mac, where only you can see it. When the session ends, the work of noticing ends with it.

What leaves, and why

Your coach thinks and speaks with the help of AI services. For that, Oithere sends them a few words: what you said you are working on, and a short note of what is in front of you. No screenshots, no recordings, no files.

The voice works the same way: the words of a nudge are sent to be spoken. If you would rather it stayed quiet, turn off Speak nudges in Settings. The panel still appears; it just stays silent.

Your account knows nothing about your screen

Oithere checks your trial or subscription with your email and an anonymous id for this Mac. That is all the account is for. Screen content is never part of it.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI.

Your screen stays on your Mac. The coach takes only the few words it needs.

If you want a focus coach that gets out of the way, including out of your data, this is the idea we started from.
